On April 1, 2026 Teresa stepped down from the Chief Supply Chain Officer role at Vanderbilt Health after serving as the supply chain leader for 19 years. She has now turned her attention full time to the two wholly owned supply chain LLC’s that she started in 2017: Vanderbilt Health Supply Chain Solutions, and Vanderbilt Health Purchasing Collaborative. The focus of these two LLC’s is to extend the influence and value that supply chain can bring to healthcare organizations across the continuum of care. In July 2025, Teresa successfully led the process of going into a joint venture with a third LLC she had created.
Teresa is a registered nurse whose healthcare career included leadership roles in the ICU, Perioperative nursing, and practice administration. Dail started her supply chain career as a Clinical Resource Manager introducing the concept of value analysis and clinical collaboration to a seven-hospital system. Teresa was recruited to Vanderbilt to focus on the development of a high performing supply chain to support the tripartited mission of the organization of clinical care, education and research. The supply chain at VUMC is centralized across now a 9 hospital system which also includes a substantial ambulatory footprint into several adjacent states. Teresa has taken her experience and expertise achieved from leading an expansive supply chain operation, which has now achieved recognition by Gartner as being in the top 20 health systems in the country, and is forcefully applying a laser focus on the continued growth of services/ membership/clients within the LLC’s. She served as chair of the Executive Committee for the Medical Economics Outcome Committee working in collaboration with 6 medical directors for 18 years to oversee the process for evaluating new products/technology, clinical variation and impact to outcomes utilizing a clinically integrated approach. Teresa is the author of multiple publications, both independently and with physician colleagues, focused on a value based purchasing and clinically engaged collaborative decision making models for supply chain management. She has been a member of SMI and is past chair of the board of AHRMM. Teresa was named to the Bell Weather League Hall of Fame for supply chain in 2022.
